Spelling Bee
Fifth graders Michael Beale and Caroline Walsh-King represented Cliff Valley at the first round of the Georgia State Spelling Bee this week, and Michael has advanced to the second round by placing in the top 10 of that bee. Michael and Caroline competed against 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, so this is quite an accomplishment. Round two takes place on February 26th at Tattnall Square Academy in Macon. Good luck, Michael! We are so proud of you!
Cliff Valley Chess Club Brings Home the Hardware
Congratulations to our Chess Club for competing in the Eastern Metro Atlanta Scholastic Team Regional Chess Tournament last weekend and bringing home two very large trophies! The competition, held at Greater Atlanta Christian, included the K-3 team of Aaron Cooper, Liam Gress, Isaac Keil, Marco Maccarrone, Spencer Schwock, Greyson Sidorski, Karthik Sitaraman, and Jordan Washington who collectively placed 7th among 17 schools competing, and the 4th-5th grade squad of Chris Barclay, Gabriel Britman, Nik Gold, Tori Gress, Evan Ibarra, Nathan Ingram, Benjamin Lang, and Alexander Roberts which also placed 7th out of 17 schools.
