Kathy Arvidson
Kathy has a B.A. from Chaminade University and an M.S. in Nutrition from Texas Women's University. She taught two year olds and pre-K at the Glenn School for four years prior to joining Cliff Valley in 2006.

Harriet Blumenfeld
Harriet has a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and has been teaching since 1981. Her experience ranges from teaching three year olds through kindergarten. Harriet began teaching at Cliff Valley School in 2002.

Nancy Cleaveland
Nancy has a B.A. in Fine Art from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia. From 1977 to 1979 she held the position of Arts Coordinator for the city of Cleveland Heights, Ohio where she implemented a wide variety of art programs for adults and children. Nancy began teaching at Cliff Valley in 2002.

Nancy DeBaun
Nancy received a B.S. and M.Ed. in Elementary Education from St. Bonaventure University and Georgia State University, respectively. Following eight years of classroom teaching in the public schools, Nancy has taught at Cliff Valley since 1983 and has taught children two through five years old.

Mubarka Deen
Mubarka earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Geography from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. Following six years of teaching high school in a private school, Mubarka taught pre-K at the Glenn School and joined Cliff Valley in 2006.

Sarah Ennis-Ruff
Sarah received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education at Georgia State University in 1983. She taught at Cliff Valley School from 1983 – 1986. She operated a home school from 1986 – 1988 and taught at The Children’s School from 1988 – 1991 when she left the classroom to raise her three children. Sarah returned to Cliff Valley School in 2005.

Marlo Gould
Marlo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and has done graduate work at Georgia State University. She has taught 2nd Grade, 6th Grade, and Reading in the Atlanta Public School system, Kindergarten at Kittredge Elementary, and has been a teaching assistant at Paideia and The Glenn School. Marlo was a substitute teacher at Cliff Valley for many years before becoming a permanent member of the preschool staff in 2005.

Kay Ibarra
Kay has a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Archaeology and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She is a licensed therapist in California, Louisiana and Georgia and in addition to teaching at Cliff Valley she continues in private practice. Kay started teaching with Cliff Valley School in 2003.  

Patty Layson
Patty received a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. Patty taught kindergarten and second grade in Athens and Atlanta for 9 years before leaving the teaching profession to have children. She joined Cliff Valley's preschool faculty in 2006.

Leslie Lipkin
Leslie received a Master's in Counseling with work in play therapy and child development from Georgia State University. She has been with the preschool program at Cliff Valley since 1995.

 

Karen Maxeiner
Karen earned her B.S. from Purdue University and is currently pursuing a Master's of Early Childhood Education at Mercer University. She has taught at independent preschools in the Atlanta area since 1997, and became a member of the Cliff Valley Staff in 2007.

Becky Meyer
Becky studied Early Childhood Education at Georgia Southern College. She taught Pre-K for 3 years at The Glenn School in Atlanta, and 2 year olds in Fort Worth, TX from 2004-2005. She moved back to Atlanta and joined the Cliff Valley team in 2006.

Minna Ree Miranne
Minna Ree received a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has taught elementary, kindergarten, and pre-kindergarten in Atlanta and New Orleans. She joined Cliff Valley's faculty in 2007.

Margaret Myers
Margaret has a B.A. in History and Political Science from Emory University. After living and working in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill, she returned home to Atlanta to start a family. She has taught pre-school since 1998 and joined the Cliff Valley School staff in 2003.

Nancy Newton
Nancy received her B.A. in journalism at the University of Georgia. After serving several years as a substitute teacher while her two children attended Cliff Valley School, Nancy became a member of our permanent staff in 2005.

Cheryl Novak
Cheryl studied Early Childhood Development at Dutchess Community College and has worked with children in various settings since 1985. In 2002, Cheryl became a member of the Cliff Valley staff.   

Ann Reed-Speer
Ann has a B.A. degree in English from the University of North Carolina, and worked in residential and commercial property management for fifteen years prior to teaching. She began teaching preschool in 1993 and joined the Cliff Valley staff in 1997.  

Eileen Stone
Eileen received her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Georgia State University. She worked as an RN at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Pediatric ICU and at a private pediatric practice. After serving in a number of parent volunteer positions including Auction chairperson, Eileen became a member of the preschool staff in 2004.
