Circulation
Each Cliff Valley family has a parent library card located at the circulation desk. Parents of preschoolers and elementary students may check out three items. All elementary students can check out library materials. Students may visit the library during class visits or when they come in on their own. Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students may have two books or magazines checked out, and third through fifth graders may have three items checked out. Any student may have an additional Spanish language book checked out. Students may check out all materials for a two week period.
There are no fines for overdue books, only for lost or damaged items. Materials can be renewed for an additional two weeks when the library is staffed.
Birthday Book Club
Birthday Book Club is a program sponsored by the library. Each summer, parents have the opportunity to sign up their kids in the club. Students are invited to the library during their birthday month or their half-birthday month for a celebration where they select their book to donate and design a personalized book plate to place in the book.
Library Collection
The library collection has over 5,000 book titles and 18 magazine titles. There are five patron computers with internet access and research CD-ROM titles. The students can check out books from the everybody collection (picture books), the fiction collection, and the nonfiction collection. The everybody collection includes special sections for beginning readers and first chapter books. There is a reference collection for the students to use while in the library. Additionally, there is a parenting collection of books that parents may check out.
