 | Cliff Valley School is committed to enrolling a well qualified and diverse student body. Our financial aid program is designed to attract and enroll students from diverse cultural, ethnic, economic, and geographic backgrounds and to offer an educational opportunity to deserving students whose families lack the means to pay full tuition. Financial aid decisions are made separately from admissions decisions. Cliff Valley utilizes a service provided by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) to assess a family's ability to contribute to educational expenses. The School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) serves over 2,000 schools and its Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) is the cornerstone of the financial aid application.
Financial aid is based solely on demonstrated need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee, which relied primarily on the analysis provided by SSS, as well as by Cliff Valley’s availability of funds as approved annually by the Board of Trustees.
If you have any questions, please contact Dara Simmons. |
Families interested in applying for financial aid should take the following steps:
1. Go to sss.nais.org and click on the upper right side of the screen to begin your application. There is a $37.00 fee which must be paid online (Cliff Valley School does not provide waivers). The PFS collects information such as family size, total income, savings, investments, indebtedness, medical and dental expenses, and other assets such as home equity. On the PFS, you will indicate which schools should receive your information. This way, you only have to fill out one form to apply to several schools. Cliff Valley School's code is 2132. Please complete the PFS by February 1, 2012. If you have any problems, call the toll-free helpline at (800) 344-8328.
2. The school will receive the Report of Family Contribution within 2 weeks. You may also request that the SSS send you its evaluation of your PFS.
3. The school uses the results, and any other information it requires, to make its financial aid award decision.
